FOREWORD BY SHORYA

I honestly feel awkward writing a foreword. I'm more of an observer. I send dispatches. I interfere rarely. Not always to good effect. I failed to prevent the war. But I did manage to stay. My American colleague, who had worked under the mask of an empress, was exfiltrated. I suspect it was involuntary.

In this book you will learn my story, and about my official duties. There's a whole chapter with me in the lead role. In the role of a spectator. In the role of Yarosh in reverse. The new American resident appears in another chapter. And the Israeli, and the British — a whole nest of vipers. They will try to recruit me, attempting to get closer to the First Person. Naive people. Ukrainian intelligence is closer to him than anyone.

But this is not a book about intelligence. It's about all of Russian society. A plaster cast of early March 2022. Each chapter is a new viewer of the "Military Daily" channel. Everyone will find themselves in one of these viewers. Some will laugh, some may even cry. There will be neighbors who drive you crazy. Lots of mirrors, often crooked ones. That's how I see this book. The author called them mirrors. I, remembering my childhood, would call it "Moonland of Crooked Mirrors."
